Kanab Utah is located in the southern part of the state at the intersection of State Route 89 and 89 A. This small community is the county seat of Kane County nestled along the Kanab Creek just north of the Arizona State line. It’s home to about 5000 residents situated in the “Grand Circle” area centrally located along the Bryce Canyon National Park, the North rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Pipe Spring National Monument, Vermillion Cliffs National Monument and several other nearby attractions. The major residential area is located southwest of downtown as well as several parks and trailheads. The Kanab Airport is also located south along 89 A and the town is about an hour and ½ East of St. George, just minutes from the Arizona border, and about 25 minutes south of Mount Carmel and the Mount Carmel junction.

Residents of Kanab are part of the Kane County school district and the small town has its own elementary school, high school, and middle school. The Big Water school, Lake Powell, Valley Elementary, and Valley high school are also part of the school district.
